Paul, an interesting photo. Where was it taken? Thunder Bay at the west end of Lake Superior or did the trains carry it further east? Presumably grain wasn't being shipped west to Vancouver in 1905.

Very good shot...Nice logo too. You can crop the triangle to size only if you plan to move it in another document as a composite (like as if you do not know...I am saying it anyway as it makes me feel smart... )

It was taken at Thunder Bay. Grain is transferred from train, cleaned and on to ship here. Many grain elevators closed here in the last twenty years but several are still active.

With all one can do with computers why can't we crop into circles, triangles and every other shape. Somebody at Adobe is getting lazy.

Paul, sounds like you are not using masks and selections. If you want to crop to a circle, use the elliptical marquee tool and hold down the shift key to constrain it to a circle, drag to the size you want, use the direction arrow keys to position the circle, then inverse your selection and cut everything outside the circle and you have your round crop. Lets say you want a triangle or a star, create a mask with the shape you want then inverse select and cut and paste. If you already know all this, then forgive my assumptions.

Yes...this is the process but once you have translated that to TiFF or Jpeg, the white background reappears, so this can only be done if you are going to do a composite...or correct me if I am wrong...
