    Rugby Action

I had the opportunity today to have a look at a Brisbane A grade rugby game (my grandson was playing in an under 6 curtain-raiser). Couldn't resist taking the camera along. These were about the best I could come up with. Not sure whether 1/500s was fast enough in 2 and 3 ?

A rather untidy scrum packs down.

Dave...looking at the expressions and poses of the men in #1 -- the one on the top left side looks like he's stuck his face on the pants of the player whereas the one on the right has his head on the butt of the one in front of him...Very funny really...Good moment shot...

I like the last one though all three of them are good, but the kicking of the goal is a highlight of the game...

Yes, Dave, the shutter was a bit on the slow side for faster action; but it worked fine where movement was slower, as with the first scene.

Geoff I was shooting in Aperture Priority mode with auto ISO and a min shutter speed of 1/500s. I had to work on the sharpening a fair bit in 2 and 3.

As it turned out, ISO didn't go all that high and I could have had the min SS set to say 1/1000s.
