    Riders in Conversation

Originally seen as a mono with an IR treatment due to the greenery but the tree areas were far too busy and distracted from the riders. True also for the straight mono and I eventually decided it needed the colour contrast provided by the riders to work. Comments needed and welcome on this one.

Nice capture, John. The contrast of the trees is a little distracting. Maybe selectively reducing the brightness of the foliage?

I think whatever recovery efforts needed for the trees will also benefit the rider in red. There is some color cast on the red outfit.

John...this shot begs one to ask "where are they going?" I'd like to say butt shot but I like the story it tells.

    Yes. Agree.

I think it is still too busy and in all aspects the Finished Work requires more 'contrasts'.

7:5 doesn't work for me. Far stronger at 2:1.

I'd lose the grey bar of shadow at the foot and the white bush at Camera Right.

I'd also change the Title to: "Conversation"

I use a thinner, but a stronger coloured, Frame: I'd pick the red from the dominant rider/horse for that frame colour.
