    Return to Glendalough

This wonderful valley with its dramatic terrain is one of my favourite spots to ramble. I spent roughly five hours with camera on the 'Spink' trekking path and down in the valley on what turned into a fine bright day with 'fluffy' clouds.

    This is a small selection:-

Yes, Chris, it is a very special place. The views on higher ground are best in Autumn when heather is in full colour. If you are thinking of going, you might like to contact me and we could meet up.

Plenty of good sharp foreground interest gradually fading into the far distance. Looks good all round.

I like the last one best, Neville...it looks like a place I can spend hours just being quiet and savouring nature at its best.

Thank you Barbara, Geoff, Richard and Izzie. It's hard to pack up and leave this place when conditions are good. But when the weather turns ugly here the wind is funnelled down through the long glaciated valley. I got a great day here on May 26.

    Ah Neville....
I was born not too far from there and have fond memories of long walks with my father and Grand father in the area as a child. Thanks for the memory boost

Thank you Tobias. Glendalough is a very special place both for its dramatic scenery and its medieval history. One of my favourite places.

Lovely set. Beautiful scenery and composition. I especially like the last one in the 2nd set. The tree frames it beautifully.
