    Road to the Airport

I missed my turning heading back from the castle ruins on Saturday, I ended up at a small airport. That's when I knew I was on the wrong road! I blame this sky, I couldn't stop staring at it and had to get out and get a shot in the end.

Cheers David, I didn't spot any planes but there were a few wild horses further down the road.

I managed to get a nice shot of one of the younger ones which I'll post up when I get round to processing it!

Great colors and light Matt I wish you had included the whole tree in the frame with a bit more space on the left.

OMG, beautiful Matt. +1 to Binnur's comment about the tree.

Thanks both, below is as much as I have to the left of the tree.

It's worth a return visit to get the entire tree and in a variety of compositions until you settle on the ideal frame. Otherwise, well done!

I like the backlighting of one of the clouds at the lower right side, Matt...I've always wanted to capture one of those but haven't got around to it...

Why did you include the tree and road when the subject is neither and they distract? Crop left and bottom and you have a nice scene.

The tree could be a distraction to be honest, maybe if I had more to the left of it. I think the image would look very flat without the road.

I've possibly got that shot on the camera, not sure why I didn't choose it.

The trouble with 'tram-lines' is that they lead the eye to 'nothing' in many cases, as here, why I restrain myself from taking them, including them in photos
