    Wild Horse Portrait

Possibly a pony as I'm no horse expert!

I took this shot from my car, as I was driving further down the Road to the Airport ...

I just pulled up beside it and took a shot, it barely moved. I often see a herd of them grazing on the side of roads in this area but never got a shot until now.

Anyway, here is the image... (not a single pixel cropped )

Love this Matt! Like your other horse shot, looks like it should be in a child's book. I agree, it's either a pony,Mir a young horse. What a beautiful place you live!!!!

Nice shot. Is the lighting entirely natural or have you applied a vignette of some sort at the bottom ? Whatever is the case, I like the effect.

Gorgeous! I adore your images for the fairy tale/fantasy/beautiful (trying to think of the right word) look, and admire that you have a definite style (I'm still floundering to find mine)

I'm going to guess and say maybe a Belgian Draft horse? Or maybe a very young Pecheron (the legs are too, lean for an adult).. No expert but I love horses. If neither, than I don't know.

Another ripper Matt. Lovely composition and great processing. Only improvement would have been if it had co-operated and looked at you - but that's working with animals, sigh.

I must say Matt you do find some interesting things when you drive around.

In Ohio we see fields of corn and soybeans.

I have another shot which I hope to process tonight with the horse/pony looking at me.

Lovely capture Matt, apart from the vignette did you use any other filters on it?

    Cheers David.

I used Viveza to add structure to the clouds and horse, my own recipe I've "cooked" up in ColorEfx Pro (mainly local contrast and colour adjustments) and then a few adjustments in Camera Raw Filter.

Another nice image, Matt. You may be showing an uncropped image, but the PP work looks rather heavy duty. I find that the vignette is rather heavy and wonder if cutting it back somewhat might not be a better choice. Somehow, I can't really imagine the light hitting the horse really came from a spot light....

Thanks Manfred, the vignette was even heavier than this at first and I cut it back. Maybe a bit more would improve it, I'll give it a go.
