More landscapes from the hidden village.

I returned to the hidden village again to try and get some more shots of this strange and wonderful place. I have completely fallen in love with Galboly. Its stunning cliffs and abandoned village gives the perfect opportunity to practice photography and the isolation gives me the chance to unwind from the stresses of life.

I really like the third photo. The colors are stunning. What are your thoughts about cloning the powerline out? I think the second has a ton of potential. I like the clouds behind that rusty tin roof. The light on those bare walls is really nice and the rocks lead the eye into the picture. I would think about the gate. It is too modern for the rest of the picture. Also there is what appears to be a piece of tin roof right center that I would clone out. You are indeed lucky to have this village to shoot. I would try different times of day, weather, etc. You have found a goldmine!

    Very nice!

Beautiful selection of images from a magical place! Was this village deserted as a result of the Potato Famine?

Great series Chris, I can see why you enjoy being there. The inclusion of the 4th image allows a reality check with the modern gate and fencing. It suggests to me that the old is being fenced off to be forgotten about, but the others in the series give a strong sense of abandonment IYSWIM

Thanks Doug. I have thought about cloning the power lines out the verdicts still out. I will be spending most of my summer up there.

This place is not reserved by government but also I dont think the place would meet modern day requirements. There is no running water or electric.

    Thanks for looking everyone.

Chris, If I crop down to just above the sun, the diagonal clouds and the shoreline lead the eye to the light area on the mountain. Lovely shot. You can't believe how envious I am that you will be there this summer. Will have to wait patiently for the photos.

All great images Chris #3 is such a calming scene. IMO the trees look a bit crisp in the images because of the sharpening. I would reduce some of the sharpening (may be %50) on the trees with a soft brush for a better look.
