Sony rx100 m3

I have a Nikon d7100 and the Sony rx100 for street photography
I love both cameras but wish the Sony had a 10 zoom
Is there any recommendations for a pocket size high quality camera (like the Sony ) with a bigger zoom
Must fit in a pocket (large pocket)

Hi Steve

I'm not terribly well up on this market slot but there are only a small number of very compact cameras around with a 1" sensor. The Canon version G7 X has a slightly bigger zoom range of 4.2x but I suspect you will have to go for a camera with a smaller sensor to get a zoom range of 10x. The design of a good quality 10x zoom lens for a 1" sensor in such a small size is probably too great a challenge. But who knows what might come up in the future.

Hi Steve,

the Sony rx100m3 is an excellent compact and well suited tae street photography. Going for a much longer zoom and consequently smaller sensor and losing the class leading (at the time) lens, would be taking several steps backwards in quality.

Ah don't wish tae sound trite but just get closer tae the subjects, it's what street's all about...
