    DxO ONE

Not sure what to think of this...

    DxO ONE

I am a massive iPhoneography fan but this seems like an odd idea - why not (for £500) just get a nice compact camera?

Why? What's it's purpose? Who's it aimed at?

I read about the burgeoning world of i-Photography and the industry it's spawning, but............! Maybe I'm just too stuck in my ways.

It's probably got pretty good image quality but I would be worried about the ergonomics of using it. It seems to be like the iWatch and has to be used in conjunction with an iPhone or iPad. So, iPhone in one hand and iCamera in the other ? mmmm...

It is an attachment for the iPhone that contains a lens and sensor but uses the processing power of the phone and its high quality screen - its not a one hand for one and the other hand for the other......its not an iCamera as its not made by Apple.

By the way there is no such thing as an iWatch and even if there were it works along side the iPhone 5 and above not an iPad. It can function independently as a watch and can still monitor your heart beat, track activities and play music via Blue-tooth without being connected.

In theory its aimed at me......except that I love using the iPhone to take pictures because it is an iPhone. I get the additional lenses you can 'clip' on and the filters and obviously all the apps but this seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. If I had to carry an extra camera (albeit a small one) I'd carry an actual camera that cost £500 and offered more than this. Its interesting but I'm baffled by it.

So does it actually attach to the iPhone physically ? It wasn't clear from your photo.

BTW I was using the term iCamera in a sort of generic sense but that was naughty of me as I dare say Apple has the "iDevice" terminology all sewn up commercially.

iWatch or Apple watch, don't really care what it's called as I have no interest in it

The iWatch exists...I just saw a lady yesterday using it at the mall...she connected an earphone to it to be able to talk to someone. I must had looked so ignorant staring at her...then I pretended to look passed her when she moved...

I get what you mean - but there is no such thing as an iWatch.

There is an Apple Watch, an Apple Watch Sport and an Apple Watch Edition. I have the Sport variant and it is superb - that lady by the way could have talked directly to her watch....yes....nerdy but sooooo cool :-) I have wanted to do that since I was a kid and watched Thunderbirds.
