    Attempt at BIF.....

Fooled you! That's Bikes In Flight

No claims for photo greatness, but it does show they are not all locked up yet

This is much nicer than you're apparently willing to give yourself credit for. It's so nice that it deserves a little more post-processing to bring out the pop.

For the record, it wasn't that I wanted to see birds in flight. It was that I was so surprised to see that you had taken photos of birds in flight that I just had to open the thread. In a nutshell, you got me!

Good capture Dave and I like Dan's comment. Also agree with Mike particularly since this is a good candidate for mono.

    Thanks for the comments, gentlemen:

Mike, could you make some suggestions. It's 16mp cropped down to about 10mp. Basically, I did a little overall pp
till I though the background looked OK, then I used Lightroom's radial filter on each bike in turn, and tried to bring out the detail with a mix of contrast, clarity and sharpness.

    an orthopedist's dream.
Too true Dan. They've all broken various bits, and the guy in the lead broke his neck a year or two ago. Crazy doesn't do it justice.

this is a good candidate for mono.
Thanks for the idea, John, I'll give it a try.

EDIT: Just noticed that the Exif has gone - no idea why!

Dave I saw the EXIF...this was shot yesterday 24/06/2015 at SS 1/800 and F 9, Shutter Priority, amongst other stuffs. I was just about to ask if this is one shot or a composite but that answered my question already...Nicely executed...

    Dave,

My suggestions are to brighten the sky overall and saturate its blue tones. Regarding the flags, darken the black tones and saturate the red tones. Nothing major; just subtle tweaks.

If you want to proceed with a monochrome version, use a red filter that produces the signs' "Bold" and "Dog" in distinctly different tones.
