Very nice series David. That's a cool looking shield bug.
I wonder if the shieldbug might be a Parent Bug (Elasmucha sp) which is quite variable in colour. But it could be one that we don't get here.
Not sure about the hairy beetle either.
The pair look a bit like Cantharis species but I don't recognise them and there are so many similar options.
Cheers Jim, I'm always amazed at the different colours of there guys!
Thanks Geoff, we seem to get quite a different variety over here still it keeps us, or should I say the more talented of us, guessing
excellent shots, as usual. I like #1 the best. the angles make a very nice composition.
#1 is very colourful. I like that one... You know what it is?
#2, Mr. Darth Vader look-alike is scary...black thing!
In #3, do I have to guess what they are doing? or are they mother and child thing?
#4, along with #1 is my favourite here...they are cute...
Another good set David.
No 1 stands out for me, the colour, the pose and we really see the texture of it's 'shield' well !
Grahame
Thanks Dan, much appreciated bud
Cheers John
Thanks Izzie, I can always rely on you for my morning laugh
Cheers stranger, are you back in Fiji yet? or still in UK? #1 is my favorite as well, Grahame.
Good to have you back on board mate, get those bugs posted
David
Yes David I'm finally back in Fiji after two months in the UK. I should have stayed longer as I've returned to cold windy dismal weather and a quick look around has revealed the bugs here are hiding and waiting for the sun to shine
I'll shortly post a few 'snaps' of my trip.
Cheers, Grahame
Look forward to viewing them Grahame, for some reason we are getting windy weather here, not bad wind but enough to play havoc with my Macro
Cheers David
I'm not going to get shots like this with the new camera. But then again I wouldn't get them with the old one either. Beautiful colour and clarity.
Cheers B, I'm sure when you save up for your Macro lens you will be more than capable
Very nice shots David We are having horrible weather here too, it keeps raining
Thank you Binnur, yes I have seen all the flooding near you on the news, crazy weather for this time of year
