    X-Cat World Series

I mentioned that we had just returned from Portugal. We split our time between a few days in Lisbon and then moved on to Estoril to crash out for the rest of the holiday. We arrived in Estoril just in time to see the last race of two days of Powerboat racing in the X-Cat World Series. Wish I had known about it in advance. Dashed down to the beach almost before unpacking. Sadly, the TV cameras had bagged all the best view points (end of the piers and groins etc.) which were sealed off by the local police but I managed one or two shots from the beach. This one was probably the only keeper. C&C welcome.

Nicely done, John...must be an interesting race especially if Aussies are involved...

Thanks all for the comments. I think they were the eventual winners Izzie but I couldn't be sure because we were too far away from the finishing line in Cascais (down the coast a bit).

Thank you Richard. It was an attempt to capture the overall atmosphere of the event but not wholly successful I fear.

I like it John, especially the name on the boat.

I'm not a boating man which probably explains why I haven't seen "power cats" like that before. They look cool and very fast !

It's all happening in that image but it works for me.

Thanks Dave, thanks Greg. They must be keen. It's a hell of a way to cart a power boat. They can't exactly drag it from Aus behind an SUV.
