    Any fans of Shire horses?

Not exactly a pet, but a lovely animal. The cart is over a hundred year old, and the farmer, well

Posted just for fun, though any comments always welcome.

I think this is wonderful, Dave. The subjects are well displayed and I especially admire that the strong shadows are controlled so well. The background tells the story about the nature of the event that made it possible for you to come upon the subjects.

I don't really understand horses, never having grown up amongst them, but to see shires/clydesdales at work and, in particular, the relationship between the horses and the person in charge of them, is one of life's more wonderful things.

One of mine from back in March 2014.

Nice Dave. I love these horses and your shot reminds me that I have been meaning to visit an outfit called Cumbrian Heavy Horses Up on the Furness Peninsula but I keep forgetting.

There is an amazingly strong resemblance between the two men in those photos and it's more than just the cap.

I think that must be from your ploughing competition photos. Great work - proper photography.
