Wild Raspberries
I own a small woods, and while walking in there looking for mushrooms or bugs or anything interesting....I came upon a large patch of ripe wild raspberries!! That was many years ago, and every year I go pick a few quarts. They don't taste exactly like domestic raspberries, and are tart, but tasty!!

Re: Wild Raspberries
I love the first overview, ummm I like both views but second one interests me...that pale orange blob has that "brainy" look to me.

Re: Wild Raspberries
Looks better in Lightbox, a bit soft looking when viewed on screen. I see more sharpness in the leaves, did you crop this image?

Re: Wild Raspberries
Thank you, David, Izzie and John. Yes, it's a crop. The camera takes it in a 2:3 ratio, and I cropped it to a composition I liked...here is the original jpg directly saved from RAW file, nothing done to it. My exif says flash fired, but actually, this was without flash. I had the ring flash on and the camera onboard flash had a cover over it (used in commander mode). I did not like the photo with flash, too flat, so I turned off the ring flash, but the onboard still fired, although not throwing any light towards the berries because of the flip cover over it. I was in the woods, and the sun was coming in from breaks in the tree leaves above, sort of like a spot light. The sun caused the catch light in the berries. I also sightly moved the bottom right leaf up into the photo to eliminate some of the black in that corner of the crop...

Re: Wild Raspberries
Would make a tasty pie.
I remember picking some as a kid and getting Chiggers.

Re: Wild Raspberries
Yes, Jim, I bet they would be good in a pie or in a danish pastry! I believe, for some unknown reason, chiggers tend to be found in blackberry and raspberry bushes in the wild...I'll let you know if I start itching!

Re: Wild Raspberries
I made a mistake, the orange one did not look "brainy" -- it looks like fish eggs...for sushi.:p

Re: Wild Raspberries
:) I could eat some fish eggs on toast......This wild raspberry is so much "glossier" than domestic raspberries they kind of do resemble fish eggs.
