I would have panicked in your situation and pray...This is one occasion where even if you are an aetheist, you will start believing in the big boy above...and see your life passes you by... Nail biting shot!!!
Intense might not be the word I used...Great shot with an even better description. Glad you're still with us to share!
Who moved away from the situation first ?
Was she alone ?
With only one eye peeking through the grass, I wonder if she was trying to not be seen. If on a stalking hunt, I would expect both eyes would need to be fixed on dinner to judge distance, and Lions usually hunt in groups.
The Lion may have been thinking "This is intense, I hope that's a camera and not a gun"
I can see the second eye (his right) it's slightly lower as the Lions head is tilted. Well seen and captured Chuck
I'm surprised you paused to frame the shot Chuck but I'm glad you did. Good image.
Great capture Chuck!
I'm glad that you didn't get hurt , great capture
Thanks for all the feedback. We were in an open "jeep" and the guide warned us not to stand up or make sudden moves. He stood up, growled, took a couple of steps toward us and laid back down. I don't think we would taste as good as zebra anyway. :-)
Makes my heart beat faster just looking at the picture! Great job, Chuck. I'm not sure I'd have gotten focus right on that one!
Chuck, very nice, impressive cat and impressive shot - strongly conveys the hunter aspect and the ease at which something so large can hide in plain sight. A really strong image.
I want to know who blinked first?
Nice shot Chuck.
Awesome shot !
You did well to get the focus on the eye through all the grass, well done great image
