    Shrike and Warbler

Went for a lunchtime walk to a local park today. These two are my favourites.

These two really posed for you, didn't they? What's your secret? If I have to choose one, I like the second one because the background matched with the bird and yet there is good separation between them. Brilliant shot!

    Re: Shrike and Warbler

Thanks Izzie. The Shrikes are curious birds by nature so they let me get quite close. I was about 2 or 3 meters away shooting with a 400mm lens. The final Image I then cropped in quite a bit. Also because of their curious nature they tend to "pose" by moving around a lot and turning their heads all the time.
The second I was sitting on a bench taking a break. Just spotted this little guy come up from the base of the reeds right in front of me. He sat there for a moment, just long enough for me to get off some shots and then caught a worm. Unfortunately he flew off before I could get some shots.

Sharp focus on the subject and a blurred background; with good brightness levels on both areas.

Both very nice but I think my pick is the first one. Everything is moving up, makes my eyes go right to the subject.
