Just posting as a new member.
I am coming back to photography having been a film SLR user (mainly using auto settings), in the distant past, and having got by in the intervening years with an assortment of compacts, now jumping back in with a DSLR.
So I will have a lot to relearn and even more to learn!

Welcome to CiC !! We are quite an informal bunch over there so if you do not mind filling up your profile, we want to know too how you want to be addressed as (nickname will do...) and also the place where you are from in the the world so you can get some global advice if asked for. Anyway, it will be nice to follow the norm here as we all have them. Thank you...

Thanks for the reply.
As you requested I have filled in a little more detail in my profile, not sure what the norm is here as I am so new, let me know if what I have put is still lacking.
Regarding how to address me I am also pretty informal so almost anything is acceptable (at least to me), user name or real name, I am pretty hard to offend

Welcome, Nick.
The ability to spot the decisive moment is still very much the same. Just that the darkroom has less wet chemicals in it, but more electronics.

... joking... being gentle with my image postings doesn't make me learn .. sometimes I think these people are just being kind to me because I joke around most of the time...look for my bug shot...guaranteed to make you fall off your perch...
