Well they were shot in B&W, or sepia, for many years before the invention of colour film, but it is very tricky to get a good image which works well and it requires a perfect angle to bring out the texture; as you have managed to achieve here.
Hi Sharon. I like the way you processed #2 and #3, very artistic images and the compositions are also nice. #3 reminds me a geisha !![]()
The obvious strength of this set is that they are all gorgeous. The more important strength for me is that the three images are also made in such different styles.
Nice series.
Very nice Sharon, they all work for me!![]()
Nice ones Sharon. Monochrome = abstraction.
Sharon all three are beautiful images. I am most drawn to the third which you have untitled. I personally am still working my way around to that Dragan style of the first image and I find the stems or leaves in the crocus disturbing...particularly the one to the right of the petals. I wish I could tell you more clearly what happens for me.
I personally just returned to shooting in monochrome as part of a professional course of studies in photography I am enrolled in and I am loving it. Your images have very aptly answered the question. Bravo!
All very nice and good pp on all of them no matter what angle...#1 has that darkish mood that I like that I would like to explore more..#2 is an artistic vision and for me, #3 is my favourite of the three ... reminds me of a lady with a secret...trying to be coy...all lovely shots.
Very thought provoking and motivating. Oh yes, and beautiful photographs. One of those 'aha moments' as I read through this thread. Thanks!
it has been said before but bears repeating: The ultimate strength of this club is the ability of the greats to help us wannabe's. Donald's question and the superb answers are quite the resource for us wannabe's.
Outstanding Sharon!
I like easy questions, the answer is YES![]()
