Legitimate grounds for an acrimonious divorce

So, what is? Well how about when Mrs Ucci, with a middle of the range sx550 canon, takes shots 'from the hip' which totally eclipse your best efforts using a 7D, cable release, complete with a tripod, with much attendant fussing around framing, focussing, and generally farting about trying to get it right? She just has an inherent eye for instant framing and capture. And so yes, she is easy to hate because of this. I really should divorce her, but then, why should I make her so happy?

We see quite a few Galahs and Sulphur crested cockatoos in our yard feeding on the bulbous roots of onion grass. What we don't see all that often is a parrot most of you will not have seen, the Corella. Here is one of a couple of Corellas which dropped by yesterday and which Mrs Ucci captured. Of course I took some shots, compared hers with mine, kept hers and deleted mine. It is the way things usually go here at our place. Husbands blessed with talented wives are a sad and sorry lot.

I think you need to learn how to protect yourself by hiding batteries or SD cards. If you don't you will become such an emotional wreck that you will not able to hold any camera steady and have to resort to always using a tripod.

Unfortunately at the risk of plunging you into utter despair I have to confess I think your better half has done a very good job.

Maybe a 150-600 mm lens would help alleviate you of your obvious dejected misery even if a tripod becomes an absolute necessity.

Well Ken, needless to say you haven't got much sympathy from the CiC ladies but I'll stick up for you old son. It's quite obvious that Mrs Ucci's shots were a complete fluke, I mean really, it's just diabolical that she could outclass you with your superior skills and equipment !

Seriously though these are good shots and I don't think I have ever seen these birds before so thanks to you and Mrs Ucci for sharing.

You may feel safe to air such sentiments and display an unashamed level of corruption from the other side of the world but be warned you may end up having a stunning B&W version tossed at you.

Well now Neville it would seem to be the opposite for me. My cameras and I don't seem to click and so they should go cheap!
And to those who decided to side with Mrs Ucci...
I have tried the old ploy of whining for gear upgrades to help lift my Game. Sort of seeking medication for my Lens Lust Syndrome. Sadly, Mrs Ucci has a nasty case of Selective Deafness. So my efforts have fallen on deaf ears so to speak.
And Donald. Thank you for your incisive appraisal of the situation and your feeling for the need to set appropriate standards for posting in CIC. It is good to see some unbiased good sense in these matters. And FYI, your check is in the mail, or it will be, as soon as I can get a pen to work. You have no idea just how hard it is to sign a rubber cheque.
And Dave. Corellas are about the same size as a galah. However take a good dekko at the beak. They are destructive little buggers and can do a lot of damage to window frames , outdoor furniture and such, searching for grubs and other goodies. Far worse than a mob of cockies on the rampage.

Had a similar experience with a Texas sunset shot from inside a car.

Mine: an 8MP Samsung Galaxy II smartphone with lots of photo adjustment options. Hers: an LG something-or-other maybe 2MP at most which she pointed and shooted happily away.

My shots are long gone while one of hers was in my desktop background folder for ages.

Having just marked our 28th Wedding Anniversary on Friday, this did make me smile... A lot!
