Nice composition.
Nice shot Joe, we have a similar set of towers going down the West Tamar. It was amazing recently watching guys working on them from choppers.
They deserve to get paid lots
I like the composition here but would prefer it if the sky was a bit more interesting. Would it work at sunset ?
Australians do crazy things to achieve their goal...what else do you expect?
Anywho...everyone always wants us to remove power lines in our images, if you remove the power lines, what is left? Just joking...I like the composition and even that red dot down the left side...if that is bigger, it would have made a bigger impact...now now don't be cheeky and paste a bigger one to indulge, it ain't gonna work...leave it as is...
Nice capture Joe, and a great idea!
I enjoyed Izzie's comment about removing power lines and also the image itself.
I wanted the first of the pylons to be a bit bigger and more "in your face". I wondered whether a tighter crop top, bottom and right would work.
Hi Joe - I hope you don't mind but I thought I'd see what I could do to add some interest to the sky - I'm not sure what you use to PP but adding some dehaze and a large-ish radial filter to the horizon has given it some detail (at the expense of noise, but this is probably because detail has been lost in the conversion to jpg and would be more successful on the original image). Just a very quick and rough job to see what might be possible.
I've also given it a slight crop to accentuate the first pylon, as per Tony's comments. I wonder, should you ever had the chance to reshoot it, if using your Tokina UWA lens and getting up close to the pylons might produce something even more foreboding.
Interesting point of view, write up and caption. Love the Canadian Flag in the distance.
Using Simon's edit which I found the cloud interesting, I loaded your image in Nik's Color Efex 4 and used the blue Graduated Filter #1. It is beautiful...more ooommmppphhh...
Thanks Simon;
I do like it. You have managed to get some interest in the sky. I use Lightroom for PP, and will have to research whether de-haze is available and how to do it. More significant IMO is the effect of the crop on the right. It made a great difference. Thanks for the input, it was very helpful.
