Hummers
Not the greatest, it was just too cloudy for my little bridge camera to shoot fast shutter speeds. Going back down this weekend and hope to have some sunshine.

Re: Hummers
Thanks John. Clearwing hummingbird moths.
Fun to watch and a challenge to capture in the frame.

Re: Hummers
Good captures Jim, the lack of strong sunshine has more than likely helped you here and you have certainly frozen the movement where it matters most.

Re: Hummers
I was on the Isles of Scilly in early June, and for the first few days there were hundreds of a similar moth (Hummingbird Hawkmoth) around. Try as I might, I could not get a picture of one! Probably to much wind. When the wind abated, they all buzzed (hummed?) off to the mainland.
Well done Ziggy for getting these shots!
John

Re: Hummers
Good captures Jim. As someone has already pointed out, the sun may not do you any favours given that the light will be tht much more contrasty.

Re: Hummers
Thanks all for the feedback and comments, it is always appreciated.
Anyone notice the tiny hoverfly-in-flight in the first image?
