Time clock from Anheuser-Busch's Beermaster Tour for C&C

Employees Time Clock – by the International Time Recording Division of IBM -- For those who cannot read the label properly, it says:
"The clock was manufactured by the International Business Machine (IBM). The clock has a rotating interior drum on which a time clerk would place a time sheet listing each of the employees assigned to that particular clock. When an employee arrived, he or she would rotate the outer handle to the designated clock number and punch in. These clocks were used continuously until the Bevo Bottling plant was renovated in the mid 1980."

This interesting piece of antiquity can be seen in a separate room located adjacent to the Clydesdale stable along with other artifacts at Anheuser-Busch, St. Louis.

With all the activities happening here every so often, I will submit some shots from our tour as I edit them...I have some more I need to edit as I did more than 300 shots there...thank you for your patience. 'Will appreciate any comments and feedback and tips on how to photograph inside buildings when you have the wrong lens with you on a tour like this.

Nice, interesting and very sharp image Izzie. Was able to read the label. Still waiting for the beer.

Great subject, well captured, Izzie. A good example of the early digitisation of humanity. What a lousy place to put the label, though.

Very nice shot Izzie. I've lived in St Louis for going on 20 years and never been on the brewery tour. I'll have to go. As for feedback, I would suggest checking the white balance, I'm guessing the face of the clock is white so the image may be skewed a little red/yellow. probably due to the indoor lights.

    Wonderful composition!

We recently discussed the advantage of using Auto White balance. This is another good example in which I'm reasonably confident your camera would have nailed the white balance. Instead, you used a manual white balance and it's way off.

Lovely capture Izzie, nice and sharp and great composition, I agree that the white balance might be off though

Nice. I can remember during a summer job in my student days having to punch the Bundy Clock. The Bundy company was later acquired by IBM I believe.

That's interesting Izzie. Never seen one of those before and I have never associated IBM with anything that old. Great record shot, well photographed.

Nice capture. To me, the only wrong lens would have either too short or long of a focal length, you can't get close enough or you are too close.

'Will upload the two beer images from the tank, Neville...I only sip a little bit from the the last tank with some Aussies from the Banana Bender states who were there too in the tour with us...

    'Appreciate your comment...

I thought so too, Greg...but it is no longer in use so I suppose they can put it wherever they wanted to, eh? The crop is because of those "tourists" like us milling around the clock with their iphones...as you can see the result of the cloning at the side of the clock lower down, I removed a leg there... and sort of blur the background so the dress of that lady will not be too noticeable...

Thanks for passing by Greg...and commenting. 'Appreciate it very much.

Welcome back to CiC, Bryan...been a long time since your last post...are you still in Boeing? Will you be at Spirit next year when the Blue Angels will be back? The authorities there decided to make the fun every two years...

The only thing I did with this image is correct the white points and black points then use the brightness/saturation adjustment and nothing else...and oh, I corrected the perspective too but I guess it was not enough. I should had shown the grid while adjusting it. I used the label as my white point instead of the face of the clock and I am happy with it...I did a grey point correction too but I didn't like it, so I deleted that layer...when you go for that tour, look for the Beermaster one as the normal freebie tour doesn't take you to all the places that we have seen and they were in a much more uncomfortable Education Centre than where we were taken...I just do not know if they were taken to the restaurant for the beer tasting though at the end. I doubt it. The tour ran for two hours...make that and hour and 15 minutes...good walking exercise...lots to see. I did not like the Clydesdale area as all I was able to take were their butts. I suppose it is much better to go to Warm Springs for that which we had booked for this October I think...months ahead of time because of our busy time frame...this place is located in a small room at the Clydesdale stable, and yes, the light is tungsten and very yellow than shown.

I appreciate your comment and feedback...thanks.

I had tried to correct the WB via software and that is exactly what I did to this image. I have to get used to using the auto white balance...I just cannot connect using auto WB having use the manual one for years...I must have used the wrong black and white points. But I had already explained that one to Bryan above...what I used in Photoshop, I mean...

Again, I appreciate your comments and feedback...

Those little rectangle thingie on the wall...I think I remember them well too...always located near where security was...I think I was able to use that a month or two before it was replaced...

Thank you for the memories and your comments. I appreciate it very much...

Thanks John...now I suppose you will say next that you are younger than me not having seen those monstrosity ... I didn't either until we went to this place...it is very interesting so I took a shot of it...just goes to show that IBM is really more antique than all of us here...my eldest son's first serious job was as a programmer for IBM about ten years ago...

Thanks for the comments, I do appreciate it a lot...

Oh God! at last someone commented about the lens...thanks John...I decided to use my 50mm for the trip because I forgot my 18mm. After that trip I am thinking of an 11-70 or a 12mm zoom for better coverage of small confined areas...maybe next month...have to pay the credit card first... I really think I had the wrong lens...if I can have a 10mm I would be more than delighted! Thanks for the feedback and your comment...appreciate it very much.
