Dried up

Found some old dried up gooseberry fruits in the garden. The patterns and shapes created by the dried up leaves are very interesting. I also played around with some colour adjustments in photoshop and lightroom combined. C&C welcome

That they are, but a different camera position and lighting can lead to a plethora of different looks.
Try working with them some more to get a variety.

A good idea but it isn't really working for me this time. I think you need another subject with more of the 'skeleton' visible; then probably do a merge of focus points to clearly show those curving lines.

I too like the idea, but this particular image has too little in focus to really highlight the interesting patterns. Things like this are particularly difficult in macro work because the subject is deep, and DOF is small at this magnification. I end up focus-stacking all of the photos of this sort that I do, even the shallower subjects.
