    Fireworks

I have been away for a while so I hope I get this right. Please be kind if I screw it up.

These are some firework pictures I took earlier this month. The back story is that our friend's house is about a block from where they shoot off the fireworks in her town. So we watch them from her driveway. The only problem is that the view is partially blocked by some trees. This year I decided to incorporate the trees into the shot to get a sense of the size of the fireworks. I think that it worked. Let me know what you think.

They are better bigger. There are some more on my flickr page.

Thanks for looking. C&C are welcome because you always can get better.

    All shots were taken with a Canon 50D with a Canon L series 70 - 200 lens at 70mm. f11 at 2.5 seconds, 100 iso.

The last one looks like one of those laser light shows. Cool.

I will let others critique. I am too busy ohhing and ahhing and waiting for the big boom at the end.

    Re: Fireworks

Hi Ian, you captured these well. I have tried fireworks a few times now and I have found that for settings if I use f22, ISO 100, and SS 30sec using a remote shutter release, and a lens at about 50mm then I am able to capture multiple bursts in each shot that look good (at least I think so). I have included a couple of samples to show you what I mean, hope you don't mind. I am not saying that the way I do them is better just another way for you to try them. Hope some of this is some help for you

    Re: Fireworks

I like the last one better. I had not tried fireworks in my now camera but I've been known to do quite a bit of them in my old one...in short, this year I am fireworked out to be sure...we didn't even go to one because I didn't want to...but I like #4 better...and also Rita's,. --- those are very, very good shots, Rita. I love them both...
