This is a beautiful shot, Jeff...but why the dark clouds? I just googled bug polarizer...seems to look good...I wonder how it can be used with metals like my husband's airplanes which are both metals...would be nice to try...is it expensive? How does it compare to the circular polarizer?

Here is a different take on the photo with almost no PP work on it, an interesting difference...

Izzie, I have a Hoya pro model circular polarizer 77mm. It cost around $80 which isn't too bad, compared to the B&W and other more expensive brands. It does the job pretty well. BTW...the "Bug" in bug polarizer in my photo's title represents the "Bug Lighthouse", nothing to do with a polarizer. I just named it that way to remind me that I used a polarizer filter on that shoot.

I googled bug polarizer and google showed me a few links...so I asked. I think one of them is from Lee filters. All my lens have a CP and it normally do a good job with it...thanks for the response...I just thought I was out of my mind!
