'Must have been an old old structure as there is the start of some text written down the bottom where the bottom of the cross starts.
Hi Izzie,
These are small 'disposable' crosses, measuring about 6 inches across the width - very common here in UK - usually in November, for remembrance day.
This one seems to have got pushed in to the ground too far, obscuring the 'inscription'.
Hi Louise,
It is an interesting shot which you obviously took the trouble to get down low for.
To make the most of it, I feel it might be worth 'tidying up' of some of the distractions (in PP now), unless you re-shoot.
There are a couple of bright stones and some of the the weeds, but worth leaving a specimen one in to symbolise 'new life' constantly being re-born.
Makes you think - how lucky my generation (and later ones) have been.
Has an almost cheerful look to the image considering the location.
My grandfather was a sniper in the trenches', I couldn't really capture the hell of those (unless I made it muddy) It has given e some idea's as I have some crosses for Remembrance Day. I hope the next generation never forget, I know people from that era have gone but we should learn.
