    Thanks. There is a pattern forming. Sony Express for RAW and Gimp for JPEG seems to be the way to go. I have also done what I often do and moved into an extreme mode for soft and subtle as I did for dark and moody. But knowing the problem is half way to solving it. This shot needed a little dark and moody.

    Indeed it is working better now. I agree that a quality set of lenses would improve what goes in but there is just so much more improvement that needs to come from the man behind the camera box. If I continue at the pace I have been moving at maybe another 15,000 shots and then I start looking for lenses?

    Very good point Brian I know a lot of people who have very good equipment but don't have the experience to shoot good images with them. So, I too would prefer to gain more experience to move to some better equipment.As far as I know you shoot a lot, so I'm sure you have been gaining that experience very quickly
