Shoulda taken down the rigging

We were watching as the wind was a blowing and a storm was a coming as these guys brought
their catamaran off the water and loaded it on the trailer as I was telling the kids...
"they should take the rigging down first". They didn't and they're wondering what to do now.

After that episode, one asked me how I knew that would happen...I turned my head and smiled to
myself while saying "ya done good".

Reminds me of when my son wanted to take his trailer sailer out on the water and had the hull floating before the mast was stepped ... I groaned to myself.
With only the bow tied to the wharf I stepped slowly [ I'm in my 80's ] and got one foot on the boat and the other on the wharf ... the boat reacted accordingly and I needed a new cellphone after my dunking

Then I dropped the only shackle in the clear water of Lake Hawea and son dived for it ... clever lad .. he's mid 40's ....

The kid shed his when he backed the truck and trailer down the ramp...it didn't tip until after
it was on the trailer and a gust of wind caught it.
