B&W Ferris Wheel
It's not something I'm used to but had a go anyway.

Re: B&W Ferris Wheel
That looks to be an enormous structure. Masses of detail, but perhaps a bit dark?
Cheers.

Re: B&W Ferris Wheel
I was going to say the same thing about the detail, could even work if portions of the scene were isolated such as the spokes are carriage. Nice effort.

Re: B&W Ferris Wheel
Looks much better at full screen size.
Yes, possibly a bit on the dark side but I think the shadows need to remain fairly dark while there are a few small spots where the highlights are currently just below over exposure level. So any changes will need to be very carefully applied.

Perhaps straighten it, as well as brightening the image?
Cheers.

Re: B&W Ferris Wheel
Good idea Philip, thanks everybody, I thought this is the sort of image suited to B&W, maybe a red filter will make it work better?

Re: B&W Ferris Wheel
Gone back to RAW and used an orange filter and colorise rendition using Optikverve Labs.

Re: B&W Ferris Wheel
That has certainly brought out the midtones while retaining good clarity.

Re: B&W Ferris Wheel
I agree with Izzie. The last edit is just right. The crop and re-process is perfect in my eyes. Great symmetry
