Having a problem with a tint
I am having a tint problem, on screen I am loving the colour, the water shows up as a rich cyan/royal blue, now I am also get a gamut warning in this area that I have been using layer masks to correct for the gamut. Now my monitor is profiled, the paper makers ICC has been further custom profiled by myself to this printer. When I print this area prints with a slight purple caste to it, the rest of the photo looks great it is just in that lighted area of the water that this appears. It may also be in other areas of the image however as it is a night shot it appears not to be affecting other parts.
So I am looking for suggestions as to what do I need to do to rid myself of that purple tint on the water, as stated it only really shows up on the print.
I have attached the image that I see on screen below.
Cheers: Allan

Re: Having a problem with a tint
Which colour space are you working in? I suspect that the out of gamut message means you need to done the brilliant colours down a touch in post and then try reprinting once you have fixed the OOG issue.
I would make an adjustment layer (either colour or saturation), make a selection and try either cutting down the red / magenta component of the water or desaturating it a bit, using a layer mask. I suspect you might have to do some test prints of the area in question to get the colour and colour density that works for you. A nice soft feather on the selection would help

Screen captures always muck up the colours a bit, but this is the 60 second directional view...

Re: Having a problem with a tint
Manfred I am using ProPhoto for the working space. I finally have gotten it to the point that I can live with it. I used Colour Balance adding some green helped to get lessen the magenta, along with some blue to the midtones, also a little adjustment in the highlights along with a mask worked.
