Lens For A Nikon D3000

I'm using D3000 myself, and if you want to invest in a lens i would recommend the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G. It can be mounted on both DX body (the D3000 itself) and FX body (full frame). The price is also reasonable in my opinion (about 485 USD). I have read a review about it on dpreview.com and i think i'm gonna buy it soon. )

Do be careful comparing prices, you haven't highlighted this here; but there are two versions (at least) of this lens, the AF-S will Auto-focus on a D3000, but the AF-D will not, make sure you get the right one (if you want AF).

I think you are looking at the right one, the G suffix means it has no aperture ring, the pic I saw of a D lens does. The only foolproof way to ensure AF on a D3000 (and similar) is to ensure it says "AF-S".

It is easy to get put off-track by supplier's websites where they may not list all the prefix and suffix letters and you think you found a bargain and it turns out to not be the lens you started looking for. Can you tell I so nearly got caught like this myself?

Haha, thanks for reminding me Dave. I ve been doing some search in the web about the lens already, like comparing the price in USD and SGD. I ve also taken note of the difference in the model. So no worry.
