Hi Brian, I prefer the image you uploaded to the 'general bug thread of august'. IMO the composition is much better in that one.The closer the better

Ah sorry Brian, seeing your title I thought you were trying to put the emphasis on the bug. The rose looks nice

If "name" simply refers to "hoverfly" or any of the other generic names the type of fly has, I had forgotten it as well, but found it by tracing it from my mother tongue designation on the Wikipedia. But I am unable to identify the species.

I have noticed a difficulty to remember new words that I supposedly have learned in several languages, as well as sometimes losing them even in my mother tongue. I hope it's not that German guy they say makes one lose ones head... (Alzheimer) The most recent loss was "regaliz", which I am trying to settle well in my Spanish vocabulary (it is liquorice). When I was younger this did not happen so frequently.

Don't worry, if you know your memory isn't what it was it is probably just normal getting old stuff.

Just guessing on that insect, Brian, but if it was over here I would be looking at Picture Winged Flies - Tephritidae and others like Ulidiidae etc.
