    Portrait of a Villager

It has been some time since I post. Here's another Portrait of a Villager.
Sony A7 + Zeiss FE 55mm f1.8 + 3 Stops ND filter + YN560III + YN560-TX + Octagon softbox on my left to balance the sun light giving a subtle split lighting with catch light on the darker side.

Aside from the excellent image, I wonder what is going through his mind.

Are those his day clothes, or worn for a special occasion?

    Intriguing, thanks,

    Dave

Yes 'nicely exposed'. You have managed to keep the whites bright but just below over exposure levels while retaining good shadows.

He and the others were sitting there to wait for transport to the town. Those are his everyday clothes.

I would be grubby short of a minute if white is my everyday clothes...just doing my normal day-to-day life... good exposure.

Excellent portrait. What is the blue OOF area behind his right (image left) ear?

I too notice that blue oof near his ear when i edited the image. If i remembered correctly there was a lady that was hanging clothing at that house behind him.

Excellent image, I wished I could do as good. Might be worth cloning out or toning down the blue behind the ear though, it will be a truly great image if you can.

Thank you. I try my best to shoot well. But will always try not to clone or do too much alteration ie skin smoothing or removing blemishes in PP. But I will usually do dodge and burn to help lead the viewers to focus on my subject.
