Another grabshot taken at The Distillery, a trendy area of refurbished buildings that were once part of a large distillery operation here in Toronto. Now full of trendy cafes and art galleries, it is another target-rich environment for the candid street shooter.
What caught my eye were two people who seem to resemble each other, were sitting on the same bench and yet were emotionally worlds apart.

Coffee and cigarette ... interesting ...different character and ages too...If I am to critique this image, I would say, remove the rubbish bin at the back and crop a little bit from the left.

While I'm inclined to do a bit of cleaning up in some shots where I feel it is warranted, I can't justify the time to remove the entire Rubbish Bin, as you call it ("Garbage Can" to me) especially when I don't find it to be an offensive or distracting element of the picture. As for the crop of the left side, I deliberately left the bit of space at the left to include the leg of the bench, to anchor the shot on the left and keep the two folks from looking like they were levitating.

Your comment almost sounds as if you are making some sort of an excuse or apology for the result because I was shooting with Film rather than Digital.
In daylight, for myself, I've never shot anything other than 100 ISO colour slide, so I don't consider it a restriction.
This business of shooting outside at ISO 200, or 400 or even faster frankly has always mystified me.
Most of my lenses are fairly high-speed, so opening up to 2.8 or even faster in many cases is an option as necessary.
But if it was absolutely essential to do so, I'd just pull out one of the partially used rolls of ISO 400 colour slide (rated at 800 for indoor low light shooting) which I keep in my bag, re-load and blast away.
Of course, in this case as usual, for me, there was no need to.
