    Toyota Automobile Museum

I'm not really all that much of an automobile buff, but the Toyota Automobile Museum is not far from where we are staying in Nagoya, so we went for a short visit there. The Toyota headquarters and main factory is in neighbouring Toyota City.

The craftsmanship in these cars always amazes me, such attention to detail.

Nice series, the close proximity of other vehicles always make these shots so difficult.

Looks to be a great place for a visit Manfred. Nice set of images. Is that Rolls in its original livery? Seems a bit bright for its era.

On first glimpse, I thought #1 was a miniature.
    Were these all hand-held, Manfred?

Yes all handheld - no flash or tripods/monopods allowed in the building. All taken with the Nikkor f/2.8 24-70mm lens.

Not sure, but I suspect it was. While there was a fair bit of English on the explanations, there was a lot more written in Japanese. I know there was a Model T Ford in a similar colour and the sign did say that it was an original colour on that slightly newer vehicle.

    Very nice.

I was curious why it was called a silver fox. I guess it refers both to a car model and to one specific car from that series

Love this image Manfred. Looked up the Silver ghost on Wiki. Apparently the name stems from a model especially prepared for a reliability trial in 1907. The name reflects how quiet the engine was and the fact that it was painted in silver aluminium paint. The vehicle still exist in Bentley Motors ownership and is valued as the most valuable car in the world at $35million! Looking at the image gallery for the Wiki entry however, seems to suggest that the model was turned out in all sorts of colourful livery. Presumably, prospective owners could specify their personal preferences.

The first one looks like a model shot...how did you do that?! The third shot is nicely done too...very colourful. I've only seen this kind once...
