A different view of buildings in L.A.

I was in Los Angeles and my hotel was next door to the Museum of Contemporary Art. They had some nice pieces there but overall, I was a little disappointed. It did, however, inspire me to look at things a little differently when I went out to take some pictures in the area. Some worked, some didn't, but trying something different is what makes it fun. At least for me.

Here are a few that I think came out OK. As usual, I am more interested in shape, color and tone than in realism. That said, this is what I saw that made me take the pictures in the first place.

Thanks for looking. C&C are always welcome.

P.S. Credit where credit is due. The fourth one is somewhat influenced by Gregory Lang's paintings, none of which are in the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art.

They look good to me Ian, especially 3 and 4. Nice creative shots.

I like them all Ian, though I might say I like #2 for its simplicity...#1 is way above my head as I have seen quite a few of them already beside from preferring a certain photographer here at CiC who dabbles in buildings from time to time here...#4 is nicely composed...I like that one too...

Good set, Ian. I like the first for the contrast of line and shape, and the 3rd because I am not sure what I am looking at. (Is it a 'concave' or 'convex' corner ... and I don't want to know.)

Like Greg I like them all in but particular #3. I think I know what I am looking at I but don't need to know.

I love your eye, Ian, but I am seeing a lot of chroma noise. Were these underexposed?

Great photos. I like the last one. I love the way the hand rails leads the eye towards the horizon and that wonderful sunset which is then amplified by the reflections on the highrise buildings, creating a tunnel of light.
