    River Conwy, Wales, UK

On a recent trip to the UK we stopped in the village of Llanrwst in Wales. (I'm sure there should be more vowels in the name Llanrwst, but that is how it is spelled on the map!) I was entranced by the river, the stone bridge and the green and yellow thatched roof on the building on the far side of the river.

Stone bridges and rivers are quite rare in the part of the world where I come from and thatched roofs are non existent. So my interest was piqued.

    C & C are most welcome

That is a very moody scene, Martin. Nice composition.

Very nice Martin. I like the composition and the pastel tones very much.

I don't think they noticed me, Izzie. They were all too busy making their way home. It was late in the day and those on the bridge had to be careful to avoid the trucks and cars as they crossed.

Nice image and a lovely place. Stayed near there in Conway itself and loved it too.

Lovely photo, the bridge leads you across to the house (or Pub?). You have sparked my interest to make it somewhere I would like to visit too.

Excellent image, and for me it's the panoramic crop which makes it really work.

FWIW the Welsh "w" is pronounced more like a "u" Maybe you know the hymn tune Cwm Rhondda, in the UK often used for "Guide me o thou great redeemer"

Beautiful scene Martin. Nicely captured. The stone bridge and the thatch roof cottage gives the image that country feel.

Andrew, although I didn't cross the bridge to the thatched roof building, I have a feeling it is either a tea rooms or an art gallery

Thanks Dave. While we were in Wales I hardly understood anything that was spoken in the pubs we visited .. mind you I didn't understand anything spoken in the pubs in North Yorkshire either!

Very nice and picturesque. We were there about 15 years ago, and we will be staying in Conwy itself at the end of Sepember. We did visit Llanwrst and I recall the bridge, but I cannot recall the thatched cottage. There is some magnificent scenery (and waterfalls) in North Wales which we look forward to re-visiting.
