Sado Island coastline
Some stretches of the west coast of Sado Island are quite beautiful with many rocks and including some volcanic ones. The islanders seem to find that no rocky outcrop is complete without a small shrine sitting on it. The view to the west across the Sea of Japan is in the direction of North Korea (or so I was told).
