In terms of which to be used, I would also lose the last one, if you had to, as it doesn't say as much about the process of creation as the others. For the remainders, I would alter their order to tell the story of the process.
#1 A long shot of the chap painting the idol. Shows the enviroment and the artist and sets the scene.
#3 A close up of the same process, to be able to see how it is done.
#5 A long shot of another process (presumably) of sculpting a large idol. Again, gives information about the environment and the artist.
#4 Close up of same process
#2 could go in here, as a sort of calm finale. That is satisfied stance there and might give a sense of "job done". It also shows some of the detail of a finished work, like the ones we saw in progress in the previous, two images.
