Bondi Beach By Dawn!

Hi all!!!! Today very early, my friend and i went to Bondi to do some sunrise shots. And with my past experience when i actually plan to go out to shoot sunrise/set shots they are duds!!! But this one didnt disappoint much, even though i wish there was scattered clouds. As i was randomly shooting the colours i turned to my friend and asked if she could see the sun rays as well, and she agreed. Here is the shot:



It was shot with my 14mm samyang at f/22 with an ISO of 100 and a shutter speed of 1.3 secs. Still practicing with this type of photography but im improving!!

Afterwards i waited around to see what the locals do when they get here, there were people playing volley ball, a lot of jogging and fitness groups around. But here are my favorite three shots of them all.

I really like the second and third shots. The third might be improved a bit if the bright spots at top of frame were cropped out.

Regarding the first landscape, the colors are lovely and you did well to get the interesting rays which help in the absence of clouds. The wide angle lens resulted in capturing a lot of foreground and sky that don't contribute to the image. There's the old adage that what doesn't add takes away. Perhaps a pano type crop would be in order for that one. Also it may be worth a try to move the horizon off center.

I'd say the morning was worthwhile, photographically speaking.

Nice set, Allen. The 3rd is my favourite. I agree with Dan, though, cropping a bit off the top would help. Maybe even take some off the bottom also to remove that dark left corner and make it more of a landscape composition.

I am with Greg and Dan about #1 and my favourite is also #3...no I am not imitating them but that one is really a good shot by all means...
