    A Walk Along The Boardwalk

Looking towards Sydney Bay surrounded by limestone bluffs within Cape Croker Park. Located on the eastern shore of the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario, Canada.

Now, that's a challenging composition. What was your own thinking in setting up the composition?

I wonder if you'd taken a couple of paces to your right, you could have placed that tree over to the left a bit more and closer or in front of the headland we see over on the left. That would then have opened up the scene a bit more giving more space to look out onto the bay. as it is at the moment, I wonder if the tree is too obtrusive in the scene.

Just a thought. I'm sure there'll be others.

Would have liked to see all of the tree and perhaps a bit more contrast on the foreground greenery.

    Thanks for the feedback.
To be honest Donald, I was trying to encompass and capture the beauty of my surroundings with limited resources. I was limited by two factors, one being the only lens I had with me was 18 - 55 mm and the limited space I had to work with. I was shooting from a boardwalk located in a dense forest on wetlands and this small opening appeared. The following image should give you an idea of what I was working with. I like your suggestion to re-position the camera to have the tree more to the left, unfortunately the lens would not allow all of the tree to be visible within the frame.

Good sharp foreground in the first image; and the foreground plants are the main subject.

I suppose you could try a very slight crop from the bottom and left side to 'move' the tree to the left and give more apparent space on the right, but I'm not completely sure if it would make that much difference.
