    Osprey, Osprey and more Osprey

I love osprey and lucky for me have been able to find a few around here, unfortunately I have yet to catch one in flight with a fish, so I will continue to work on that. CC always welcomed and appreciated.

Great shots, you will eventually get them with a fish....when the fledglings are being fed by momma.....it may be too late this year..

Good to see you keep shooting as the weather deteriorates from blue sky (#1) to rain (#5) Barbara.

If mine, I'd be tempted to desaturate that orange thing in #5 - and that wasn't even intended as a pun.

    Great series, Dave

Dave great suggestion and I would have not have thought about that myself! I thought about blurring the buildings etc even more but then I thought better of it as I kind of liked how it shows how close to civilization these guys live.

Are you using a tripod or are you hand holding your equipment! These are great shots of a magnificent bird!

Thank you Sandy! I only shoot hand-held although I own 3 tripods I never use them as i feel confined by them. Eventually I would imagine I will need to use them but for now it's holding.

    Awesome shots Barbara!

#2 and #4 are my personal favourites, I much prefer bird photography when there is another element involved in the image.

We have Osprey locally, its also what our local rugby team are named after.

Thanks Matt! I hope your team is tougher than some of these guys! They are easily chased off by mocking birds who are a small bird

I'm not really a fan of rugby.

I follow football (soccer) and my team are called The Swans

I just spit water all over my computer from laughing so hard! The Swans? not exactly a tough name, just saying.

Great shots, Barbara ... the second one is my favourite. There is a sense of anticipation with the left foot raised and a look of determination in the eye. It is a lovely simple photo that tells a story.
The background, although plain white, blends in nicely with the white colours of the feathers.
    Wonderful photos.
