    Standing In the Spotlight

    Tiny Skipper butterfly standing proud.
I know I broke a rule but do you think it works?

What rules? The image works and that is what really matters here.

The lines emerging from the corners of this image are what really anchors this shot.

Very nice, insect floats within the composition even though it's stationary.

Very nice picture. I like the framing as well. One question though: how do you grt the skipper to stand still for you?

Nice catch Jim. I like the composition. It is always nice when your subject cooperates and poses for the camera

I am not always a fan of bugs but this image is very nicely composed. Love the curved perch

It works for me because of that curve and shadow.

Very nice shot Jim. Forget the rules, do what is in your mind the best way to show off the subject.

Thanks all for the comments and the feedback.

With the subject close to center I did not know if would work.

It does, because we can see the reason.

    Nice one, Dave

I really like it as well, as they say, rules are made...
My only suggestion is maybe toning down the right spot on the foliage on the left, it tries to grab my attention.

That's the only thought that I had as well. Pick up the green if you can and then tone the bright spot in slightly. Another really good shot. I'm still waiting for that album.

A belter for sure, Ziggy...you've nailed this one right...As Kay and John said, tone down the greens on the left side...composition is perfect.
