Two from my recent trip to France

Just back from holiday in Ile de Re, France and wading through a lot of new images. These are two I would like to share.

    1. House at Rue Merindot, Saint Martin de Re. (I make no apology for not correcting the converging verticals.)

    2. La Grosse Horloge, Vieux Port, La Rochelle.

Nikon Df with Nikkor 16-25 f4 at 16mm, 1/60 at f11, 100 iso. Some motion blur (CS6) used selectively

I think the perspective distortion works well with both images but is particularly effective in the first one.

Thank you Binnur and Mike. The wonderful house in no.1 is kind of quirky and the extreme perspective seemed to add to the effect. Also, it's hard to get entire facades in when streets are so narrow.
This was our third consequetive year to holiday in Saint Martin de Re and we are thinking about next year already.

Love those red shutters and the old stone work. Looks like an interesting town.

Nice images Neville, I prefer the 2nd myself and the motion blur definitely works for me.

Many thanks Dan. Yes its a wonderful place with its original medieval fortifications surrounding the town still intact apart from two modern access roads. I have some images from previous visits at http://www.ndukes.net/albums/ile-de-re-france/ and will be posting more shortly.
