Thread: Calibration

    Calibration

I have recently calibrated my Retina MBP and also my Eizo CG276 using the Spectracal C6 probe.

When comparing the same B&W image on both displays they appear to have a different white point.

Should they look the same on both displays?

    Re: Calibration

Dan, I imagine your monitor is considerably 'larger' than your laptop screen so I would expect some apparent difference due to relative sharpness. (ie same image on different sized screens would result in the 'smaller' looking sharper).
But that aside provided the brightness of both screens is set to the same level during the calibration process I would expect them to look similar.

I assume you calibrated them both at the same time and in the same lighting conditions (i.e. no significant variation in ambient light).

I have a dual monitor system calibrated using a Datacolor Spyder system and both screens are a close match. The are both the same size though. The primary screen has a non reflective surface, and the older one does not, which creates a slight change.

To be honest though, since the primary screen is the one I use to view/process my images I don't consider I have a problem with the older screen.
