Can someone tell me the exact size of my lens itself...It only says what focal length is...Can someone help with the actual measurements of the lense itself...meaning the round area..Had I wanted to buy a infra red filter, what size would i need...a 35mm ???

Re: Help: How do I find the lens filter size?
Your lens will usually list its filter size on the front side of the barrel. Standard sizes to look for include 52 mm, 72 mm, 77 mm, etc. The example below shows a UV filter which is 77 mm (for Canon's 17-40 f/4L lens).
There's a bit more about it within this website's tutorials section, under camera lens filters.

You can measure the diameter of the lens with a micrometer. However if you have a superzoom bridge camera, it is possible that it may not have a filter thread.
