The second one is really excellent. The third could top it but centering the person in the frame puts me off a bit. In both shots I really like the person looking off into the distance rather than at the camera. Nicely done. Nice submissions.
All are nice; however I particularly like the second one. Love the placement of the woman between the trees in the distance, as well as, the colors and simplicity of the image.
All three are really good Kay. It's no. 3, 2 and then 1 for me. The cloud formation just draws my eye in to the subject in three. I agree with Kim on no. 2. I find the highlights in the first one a bit distracting but it holds my attention if only because I want to know what is going on.
# 3 for me.
Nice community challenge and nice captures.
#1 works for me although is the pitch just a little on the bright side?
#2 would have been good if it wasn't for those out of focus flowers in the foreground.
#3 is OK but for me, if she had been standing a little further to the right so there was more space in front of her than behind it would have been perfect.
Thank you everyone for your comments. The model is our daughter, so I will take her out another stormy day to the rock site & do some more...
John(2) the event here is an Aussie Rules football game between our home town heroes, with the Captain playing his 200th game for the club.
This was overshadowed by a player in the Sydney team, who is of aboriginal descent & a previous Australian of the year recipient. He had recently stopped playing & he is a champion player, because fans were booing him. Every time he got the ball. Some say it started because he 'staged' for free kicks, no one really knows, but with all crowd ugly behaviour it just got bigger & worse. He had missed 2 rounds when the team came to play us, he was picked to play again, the eyes of the nation were on our footy fans & by default our town to see, if who cares why it started & he has said he feels it's racist against him, so it needs to stop.
It did, he played, we cheered our team, & were silent for his... All 30k of us.
Sport was the winner as the cliche goes.
My order of preference is #1, #2 then #3...footy always win, hands down, of course...I only get to see the finals on a special subscription here...anyway, were any of the three you submitted chosen for the calendar? I root for #1...Who won last night? I like Hawthorn of course but Griddi will be disappointed in me because she likes Adelaide....hu!
Haha Izzie, the finals are getting exciting, Hawtorn trounced Adelaide & Nth Melbourne beat the Swans & Adam Goodes has retired, so it's all the more special that he didn't finish early due to the boooing controversy.
I will let you know how I go with my entries, we don't find out till Ocotber sometime.
