A fraction more brightness in this image, Brian. Looks good to me.

Well captured Brian. I like the green stalks almost as much as the bloom.

I worked at that. A small aside? I wonder if there is a metric equivalent to 'a fraction more'? Growing up Canadian in the mid 20th centiry Imperial was my measurement.

I agree. I think the green 'leaves' make the shot.

Nice shot, Brian. I must say that your submissions have improved a lot over the past few months. From both a technical and compositional standpoint. Nicely done.

I think fractions are still valid in the metric system. However if it would feel more metric to you maybe "a decimal place more" would work.

Thanks Dan, the technical improvements can be attributed to a much greater range of options to play with in the new camera and the new software for pp'ing.

The gentle nagging from this group has helped me to work on my composition skills.

One of my joys in this passion is the knowledge that there is no end to the getting better.

Well I suppose there is always a smidgen; or a tad, which I think is of US origin. Going more European, how about a soupcon?

A term often used by precision craftsmen around here is a Gnat's . . . Which must be quite small.

I'm partially metric. Millimeters are so much easier than those 64 ths of an inch when it comes to drill or screw sizes etc. But once I reach 100 mm I tend to switch back to Imperial for wood or metal etc although I can work with mm for paper sizes, with the European A paper sizes.

But those centimeters just confuse me.

I like this photo, Brian. If you decide to go metric, take care not to decimate your images.

    Cheers.

Ever since I was a pastor and read W. Barclay' commentaries I have been looking for an excuse to use 'Hogshead' in a conversation or as a measurement. I finally succeeded.

Thank-you. It has taken a while to get here. The good news is that there is more of the journey to enjoy.
