    White-breasted Nuthatch

I think you can guess I'm not a talented bird shooter but I do enjoy a try sometimes.

Down at Wahkeena Friday afternoon walking the woods when the group passed. When I say group a lot of times you find these traveling with Black-capped Chickadees and Red-bellied woodpeckers and this was the case.

Thanks both. Fun to watch these guys running up and down trees looking for insects.

Since putting up that birdfeeder in my backyard I have quite a good number of nuthatches coming in each day...they are quick little buggers. This one of yours is beautiful too...nice angle.

Thanks Izzie. Have you ever seen a Red-breasted Nuthatch? I only see a few.

I used to feed the birds but then Rusty showed up and I stopped.

Not Red-breasted, but I saw a similar colour one, smallist like a Nuthatch but it has the crown like a cardinal but it is not a cardinal...I have to take some shots of that when I see them again. There are about 4 of them in the feeder at one time excluding the Nuthatches...I have no problem with our cat, she is an indoor one but I have problems with squirrels which my stepson shoot when he sees them in my feeder, which bothers me because he does it before I can take a picture...

    Thanks Irene and Matt, appreciated.

Izzie, take some shots and post so we can ID the bird.
