Moon
This is a landmark for me in two ways. It's my first moon photo in Kathmandu and given that I've been here 7 weeks now that's quite something. During monsoon season there's a lot of cloud around and I haven't had many clear views of it up until now.
Second, all my previous moon photos have been out-of-the-camera jpgs, but since I've been trying to get to know photivo, I had a go at the RAF file (from Fujifilm HS50). And yes, the edge is slightly less overbright than on the camera's jpg so maybe I'm getting somewhere.
I'm not sure I'm saving properly though, I forgot to change the size of the file before exporting so this is only 30 kb. And it's the first photo I've ever had that I can't upload to smugmug. It seems to accept the file but an hour later there's no photo and just a 'processing' icon. Any ideas? It did upload ok to facebook so maybe it's a smugmug problem

Re: Moon
Nice quarter moon, Rachel. I'm no expert on moon photos but as a mere viewer it looks good. Great detail and no blown highlights. Well done.

Re: Moon
Thanks all. I usually prefer some scenery with my moon but it's nice to see what my camera can do.
Next weekend for the full moon I'm hoping to get away from the city smog and haze for a view of the moonrise and mountains. Fingers crossed for clear skies.

Re: Moon
Hi Rachel I really like your moon shot. It doesn't look artificial or overdone.
